Great Taste 2021

”The tart is very attractive. The pastry is light and flaky. The flavour and texture of the soft custard was very pleasing. The addition of the raspberries was welcome. We felt the filling was slightly inconsistent although we still enjoyed the product. Deliciously crisp, slightly salty puff pastry, but in the warming this has gone slightly soggy on the base which makes the tart hard to eat. Very sweet filling, which has a slightly gloopy rather than eggy consistency, again possibly because it was heated – we would have expected the custard to be firmer. Well flavoured raspberries. Very tasty, but not exactly what we were expecting from a pastel de nata”.
